light bulb

An incandescent lamp is an artificial light source in which light emits a red-hot body heated by electric current to a high temperature. A spiral made of refractory metal (usually tungsten) or a carbon filament is most often used as the body of the filament. To prevent oxidation of the incandescent lamp body in contact with air, it is placed in a vacuum or filled with inert gases or vapors flask.
